Baby Time...

...but not for me Ha! Sorry, couldn't resist :) A couple weeks ago I was lucky enough to help plan a "Circus" themed baby shower for my good friend Kristen. It was a great night and she was gifted with a lot of cute things for her new baby boy!

Drink table before the cups were filled. We served red punch and lemon water. Also, popcorn in cute bags!

Treat table: Cupcakes, cookies, oreo truffles and fruit kabobs!

Shower guests!

Kristen and I with the quilt my Mom and I made for her.

This is how we do it on the farm

I went home to Michigan for the first week of September. Growing up I couldn't wait to move away from the farm, but now I absolutely love going home. It's nice to go home and take a break from my hectic life in the "city" and do some of the things that made me "me."

I did things like ride the quad, eat a lot of fruit, shoot my bow, sew/cook with my Mom and sit in the hot tub every night eating chicken in a biscuit crackers. It was glorious.

Introducing Eglantine

I have some very exciting news. I would like to introduce you all to Eglantine, our new baby kitten!

I have pretty much been wanting a kitten since Stas and I were married. We decided that we would get a kitten when we stopped moving around. So for the past two months I have been nagging talking to Stas about finally getting a kitten, but he was not to excited. When I stopped at the Humane Society last Tuesday and didn't see any kittens, I was disappointed. But when I turned the last corner and saw a little gray paw sticking out of the cage, reaching for me to take her home, I did just that.

Spring

I can feel spring right around the corner! This season of rebirth has inspired me to make certain transformations in my life, one of which is consistently updating the blog.

I plan to use this blog as a way to record my (and Stas') adventures in life, as well as keep me accountable to certain goals I plan on making in the future. I have been thinking lately about living a fulfilled life and what exactly that means. So my goals will be based loosely on ways to make my life full and useful. More on this later.

A lot has happened since I last posted. So, I though I would make a list about what has gone down in the past 5 months. Whoa, 5 months!

The List:

Stas and I did not dress up as vampire and vampire slayer for Halloween.
We didn't dress up at all. For shame.

We made an offer on a condo and it was accepted! We spent 2 stressful moths trying to buy said condo and in the end it fell through.

The rentals (my parents) came to visit for Thanksgiving! Yay!

Stas was called as Elders Quorum President (big leadership position at church). whoa.

We found a even better condo and made an offer.

Christmas in Michigan and New Years in Florida!

Stas worked 12 hours a day for 3 weeks. We hardly saw each other.

Bought said condo and moved in the end of January! We are homeowners!!!!

Painted, updated and unpacked the condo for a month. Rachel turned into a spaz.

Rachel got a job. Finally!

Stas learned how to fix our cars, sorta.

Rachel went to Michigan to help the rentals pack up their house, so they can move to a new home. It's a bombspice awesome historical house.

We almost got a kitten.

So that is pretty much the highlights of what we have been doing. We are both exhausted from the past couple months. It seems like we have been going non-stop. We are pretty much unpacked now in our new place. Now it's time for decorating. Holla! Mostly we are looking forward to getting into the routine of life.

lamespice butt munch

I thought I would post something today. My avid readers are demanding to be updated on my exciting life, so who am I to deny the masses?

Right now Stas and I are in the process of buying our first home :) It is taking a lot longer than we thought. So in the meantime I decorating our new place in my mind, over and over again. I can't wait until I can do it for real!

I have not found a job yet, and to be honest I am in no rush. After 2 years of getting a new job every 6 months, usually a job I didn't enjoy, I am taking a break. I don't want to start working before we are completely settled in and I don't care if people think am lazy. Maybe I am.

Fall has begun!! Fall is my most favorite season. The leaves have started to change to beautiful red and orange and the outside air is nice and crisp. It is the season of hoodies, warm soup and scarves! Plus, the humidity is gone. I can finally style my hair without looking like Medusa.

I have been planning Stas and my Halloween costumes. I have finally convinced him to actually wear a costume this year. We have a couple of costume parties to attend and he will look stupid if he doesn't dress up. YAY! At first I was going to dress up as
Puss in Boots and Stas was going to be Shrek.

But, my sewing machine is still packed away and I just don't want to dig it out if we will be moving soon. So I decided the archive this idea for next year. Instead, we are going to be either vampire slayers or a vampire and vampire slayer. If we choose the latter then Stas and I can act out a gruesome fight in which the vampire (probably Stas because all he would have to do is pretend to die) is slayed by the vampire slayer (me because I have bombspice awesome fake matrix fighting skillz). Plus we pretty much have all the stuff for the vampire/slayer costumes. Weird, I know. But I pretty much define weird.

On Saturday we went to the Cleveland Zoo with our Ohio besties, Sarah and Joe. We had a lot of fun! I was exhausted by the end of the day. Maybe it was because I decided I should go try to run a marathon the day before, after more than a month of zero working out. But, who really knows.

Here are some fun pics from the day:

Sarah and I decided to feed these cute mini-looking-parrots some
yummy nectar. As you can see, I had both my fists
clenched the whole time. It kinda freaked me out a little bit.
You never know what a bird might do...like bite my little ear or something.
